| エルトン・ジョンの歌から「ダニエル」Daniel（壺齋散人による歌詞の日本語訳） ダニエルがいくよ 飛行機に乗って 赤いテールランプが スペインをめざしていく ダニエルが手を振るのが見えるよ でもそれはダニエルの形をした雲だった ぼくはいったことがないけど どんなとこ ダニエルは素敵なところだっていうけど ずっとそこに行きっぱなしは困るよ ねえダニエル 君がいなくてさびしいよ 君はかけがえのない兄さんだった 頭に受けた傷の痛みをまだ感じるかい 君の目は死んだけどぼくよりよく見える 君は空に浮かんだ星のようだよ ダニエルがいくよ 飛行機に乗って 赤いテールランプが スペインをめざしていく ダニエルが手を振るのが見えるよ でもそれはダニエルの形をした雲だった ああそれはダニエルの形をした雲だったんだ 1973年のアルバム Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player に収録。作詞者のﾊﾞｰﾆｰ･ﾄｰﾋﾟﾝによれば、ヴェトナム帰還兵をテーマにしたものだという。負傷した兵が故郷に戻ってくると、意思に反して英雄扱いにされる。それを嫌って他の土地へ飛び去ったという内容だ。頭の傷とか、眼が死んだとは、兵士の負傷に言及しているのだろう。 作詞者の意図を離れると、小さな男の子が兄の死を悲しんでいるとも受け取れる。 |
